CLEAN WATER SUMMIT

The Summit is...

An effort to join individuals, organizations, businesses and governmental agencies from around the world in a unified effort to provide clean water to the people of the world.

There is a great need...

According to the World Health Organization, 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to clean water—that’s approximately one in six people on earth.   1.8 million people die every year from diarrhoeal diseases (including cholera)—that’s 4,900 people each day; 90% are children under age five, mostly in developing countries. For children under the age of five, water-related diseases are the leading cause of death.

We can accomplish...

Currently, there are many involved in efforts to provide clean water to various countries in the world, some focused on installing new wells, some through providing water filtration systems and products, some through providing education, etc.  There does not seem to be any significant coordination of these efforts, nor the sharing of information and best practices among those involved.  Coordination will help focus resources where needed, will help reduce duplication of effort, will help identify and share information and best practices, and will help develop needed approaches to accomplishing everyone’s goal of providing clean water to the people of the world.

We have the technology.  We have the resources.  Working together we can accomplish clean water for the world.
